So my bin was overflowing this month. I think it's mostly because there were a lot of products I was scraping the bottom of nearing the end of the year and that makes for a lot of empties in January.
Here's a quick rundown of the products I used up and my thoughts on them.
Coles Makeup Remover Pads (x2 packets)
These are a staple in my routine so you probably noticed these make an appearance again. I can't go past these for quality and such a bargain price.
Gilette Shaving Foam in Lemon Lime
Another staple, I feel like this does a much better job and is far cheaper than some of the similar product aimed specifically at women. I love the refreshing citrus smell of this in my morning shower and because it's a gel formulation a little goes a long way.
Colegate Plax Mouthwash in Freshmint
I cannot find a strong enough mint taste, I am obsessed! I always have the strongest mints I can find in my handbag and must use my minty mouthwash at least twice daily. Another staple in my routine which I will continue to replace.
MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus
This is about the third one of these beautiful powders I have used up and it has quickly become my Holy Grail powder. I love the way this isn't at all cakey and gives my skin an airbrushed finish all day long. I also use this without foundation sometimes on weekends and it layers easily so you can control the level of coverage it provides. I have a few backups of this one in my collection but will definately be buying it again.
Soap and Glory Hand Food
I saw this mentioned so many times on YouTube last year that I had to go on ebay and find it. I've also seen it at my local Kit cosmetics since and it's one of my favourite hand creams I've ever used. My mum loved it so much I bought her a tube as well and will buy this again for sure once I have used up a few other hand creams I have lying around.
Sportsgirl Butter Dream Body Butter in Vanilla (x2)
I bought a whole lot of these on special a few months ago as they were repackaging it and all the old stock was being cleared out at about $3.95. I really like the scent and texture of this cream and it's much more affordable than the Body Shop Body Butters I am in love with. Even at it's full price ($9.95) I think it's well worth the money so will be getting this again for sure.
Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo
This was a gift from beautyheaven.com.au at some point and I was very impressed with this for a supermarket shampoo. It also worked very well cleaning my makeup brushes a few times when I ran out of my baby shampoo so this gets another thumbs up.
Palmers Skin Therapy Oil
I have been using this for a few months now to clear up some acne scarring on my back and I've found it much better than the Bio Oil I was using before this. Within about two weeks I could see a noticable difference so I'll keep this up until I can't see scarring anymore.
Kora Organics Tinted Day Care Cream
This is the old packaging and formulation of this cream by Miranda Kerr and I really liked it. It has very good coverage for a tinted moisturiser and a lovely natural smell. My only issues were it's lack of sunscreen (which has been added to the reformulated version) and I do find I can't really use this if I am planning on applying makeup. For some reason under makeup it seems to drag and the colour looks a bit uneven but perfect for use on it's own.
Blackmores Nails, Hair and Skin tablets
I have been using this on and off for quite a number of years and I always find myself going back to it. It's quite affordable (around $12 for 60 days supply) and I find it makes a big difference to my nails and the skin on my face in particular. My nails are less prone to breakage and my skintone looks more radiant and even although it does take a few weeks to notice results when you first start using these.
Clinique Moisture Surge Gel-Cream
I'm trying to work my way through quite a few Clinique products I have collected as GWPs and this is often included as a freebie. I like it much better than the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion or Gel as they tend to leave my skin a bit tight a few hours later. This product provides great moisture especially considering it is quite a thin gel consistency. Will probably get this again once I run out of the samples!
Loreal Elvive Colour Protect Hair Mask
I use this a few times a week in place of a regular conditioner and it works fantastically. My hair can be very dry from bleaching and straightening and this helps to keep it managable and soft.
St. Ives Daily Microderm-abrasion Scrub
I have been using this scrub maybe fortnightly for the past few years and I find it really good for polishing my skin and regular use is fading any scarring or pigmentation on my face. Unfortunately I think this has been discontinued so I stocked up on about 5 of these from ebay, think I will be set for a while longer before I have to find a replacement!
Rimmel 60 Secong Nail Polish in Coralicious
Normally I lose interest in a nail colour long before it runs out so using this up is a rarity for me! That said, I have had this for well over a year and probably use it about every secondweek so it did very well for itself. It's perfect for throwing in my handbag for a quick coat of colour so I have already replaced this in my collection.
Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash Sample
I didn't find this body was did much for me. It was pleasant enough but didn't really have much of a scent and I didn't really think it was any more moisturising than other washes I have used. Probably won't head out an buy this one.
Phew! That's it for this month, I hope you have a beautiful day!
