So after looking over my makeup and beauty collection on the weekend I have decided it’s about time I tried to cut back on the exorbitant amount of products I have and embark on a Project Pan! I did this for a few months last year and it was great so I know I can do it. This time I am upping the ante and making it a Project 30 Pan (last years was a Project 10 Pan). I have so many makeup products that are half used so it will be a good way of forcing myself to not buy anymore for a while and I am hoping I will rediscover some old favourites and new ways to use the products I already have.
I know you’re probably wondering what this blog will be about if I’m not getting new products but I promise, I’ll still have plenty to post about! I thought the start of the month would be a good starting point so here goes…
Everyone seems to have slightly different ways of doing these so I thought I’d outline the rules I decided on before I start:
- I must use up (not just ‘hit pan’) 30 products entirely before I can buy anything more.
- I am still going to be getting my beauty sample boxes so I am allowed those plus there are a few things I have already ordered and paid for during February that I am waiting on to arrive. Also I will be using some points to get some products from Beauty Heaven’s Beautorium in early March which doesn’t count as I’m not paying for these.
- Products must be cosmetics, skin care, body care, hair care or perfume (things like toothpaste don’t count).
- Products must be full size (not sample sizes from sample boxes).
- If I am totally out of a product category (eg. If I totally use up all the bottles of shampoo I have, not likely) I can replace it, but only with one product not 5 different ones!
- If a magazine has a GWP I am only allowed to get it if it is too good to pass up. However the product must stay in a box and I am not allowed to use it until I have completed Project Pan.
- I will be getting my makeup done at the MAC counter for a special event in May. Since the cost of this is redeemable against products I will be picking up some things to make it worthwhile. However they too must be put in the box and not used till I’m done.
I think that covers everything, I will do some updates along the way to let you all know how I’m going! Here goes! has anyone else tried doing one of these?
Hope you are all having a beautiful day!
What's a GWP?
ReplyDeleteI really should do this!!! I have way to many items. Goodluck!!
ReplyDeleteHi Alice! GWP means Gift With Purchase, it's freebies with magazines and freebiew you get when you buy other products from a brand...
ReplyDeleteI totally want to do this. I have three drawers full of crap I don't need, and I don't even buy that much stuff!
