March Empties

Another month has flown by and it's time to empty out my bin and put together another empties post!

Here's what I finished up during March:

Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
I have been trying out a few cheaper brands of eye makeup remover as I seem to go through it quite quickly and while I love my Clinique All About Eyes the cost does start to add up! While I liked the Nivea variety I still found it didn't seem to do quite as good a job of removing my mascara and eyeliner, perhaps because the Clinique one seems to be a bit oilier?

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Fragrance Free
I prefer the scented version of this body lotion but I have a few of these left over from one of my freebie Priceline bags last year. It does an equally good job of moisturising but I missed the delicious chocolatey scent of the regular version!

Be Clean Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
This was buy one get one free when I was passing by Priceline and I decided to try it out. I was very disappointed when I looked in my bathroom draw one day (after only having the bottle a few days) to discover the top had been knocked open and all my toilerties were all bobbing around in a sea of makeup remover! I am now using up the second bottle but I have to be very careful that the lid is tightly closed when I am done using it and I'm absolutely paranoid of it happening again so probably wouldn't buy this again unless they change the packaging.

Imperial Leather Foamburst Foaming Shower Gel in Jasmine and Green Tea
I thought I had finished the last of these from my haul last year but then I found another hiding away at the back of my cupboard. I loved every scent of these and will definately be repurchasing these shower gels in the future - such a little bit goes a long way!

Burts Bees Radiance Toner
I won this as part of my 2012 Beahutyheaven Glosscars Prize pack and it's taken me a while to get around to trying it out. I did like  the way it removed any last traces of makeup or dirt from my skin after cleansing but it didn't help to keep my skin from getting oily during the day like my Clinique one so wasn't the best for my skin type.

Vaseline Total Moisture Dry Skin Body Lotion
The busted bottle from my Beautyheaven Beautorium Haul (you can read that post here). This wasn't as thick as I normally like my body moisturisers to be but left my skin smooth and hydrated.

Colgate Plax Mouthwash in Freshmint
My all time favourite mouthwash for minty fresh breath!

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector for Oily Skin in Medium
I love, love, LOVE the original formula of this BB cream and was keen to try this out when I heard it had even greater coverage and a more of a matte finish. Whilst I did quite  like it and it was closer to fuller coverage than the original formula, I found it needed to be used over the top of a moisturiser as it didn't provide much hydration (I had been using the original straight after my toner in the mornings).

St Ives Daily Microderm-abrasion
I don't even think this is made anymore but I have been using this as a at-home scrub for years. I find it does a really good job of exfoliating and smoothing out the texture of my skin and I stocked up when I heard it was being deleted a couple of years ago. I wish they would bring this back!

Nivea Pearly Shine Lip Balm
I didn't like this lip balm one bit - it had a pearly pale pink finish that did not suit my colouring at all. It sort of looked a bit chalky and any colour sank into the lines on my lips and looked terrible! I did use it up as an extra balm in my desk drawer but will be staying away from this one in the future. The other lip products from Nivea are much better.

Lip Smacker Sugar Plum Lip Balm
This was a lovely Christmas gift and I was so sad I managed to use it up so quickly.

Sheercover Lip Gloss in Pink Praline
This was included in my Lust Have It box all the way back in January of 2012 so it was about time I used it all up! I really liked the texture of this and the subtle pink sheen it gave my lips and it wasn't sticky at all which was nice.

L'Occitane Hand Cream
This is one of those beauty products that always seems to have so much hype but until now I had never given it a go. It was nice and hydrating, absorbed easily and left my hands smooth and soft so this would be a product I would pick up in the full size.

Sunsilk Shield and Shine Serum
I have been through a few sachets (and still have a full bottle) of this and it works quite nicely for a cheaper serum. The only thing I did find was that you had to be quite careful when you applied it - too much could very quickly put you in the grease ball category!

MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Natural in Medium Deep (x2)
Sob! I seem to go through these way too quickly. It's a love/hate thing when I see the bottom of one of these babies. Love because I get closer to taking them Back to MAC, and hate because I need to replace it straight away (like, cannot go a day without this!) and hate paying our exorbitant Australian prices for MAC products.

Garnier Clean Detox Facial Wipes
I have a TON of facial wipes I am working my way through at the moment. I love the refreshing scent of these and they a nice thick and absorbant wipe that does a good job or removing most of my makeup before I cleanse.

Marc Jacobs Dot fragrance
I have almost bought the full sized bottle of this so many times it's not funny - I add it to some sort of online cart on almost a weekly basis only to tell myself I have too many fragrances and out this goes again! This has to be one of the best scents I have smelt in a very long time - I'm secretly hoping I will win it in a competition just so I can add it to my collection!

Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush
The second of these I have had to throw out due to a very poor decision to try and use metholated spirits to clean my brushes at some point last year. Dumb! Over time it has loosened the glue so the bristles have all been falling out so I had to toss it and finally order a replacement.

Dermalogica Multi-active Toner
I have tried a few Dermalogica products before and just haven't been able to see what all they hype is about to be honest and this was another that fell in that category. It worked fine, but no better than many of the other toners I have used for a quarter of the price so it's not likely I would go out and splurge on this.

Victoria's Secret Bombshell Summer Body Mist
My very well loved (and quite badly battered) VS body mist has traveled in many a handbag/gym bag/suitcase and was finally out. Whilst this limited edition isn't available any longer I have plenty of backup body mist oprions from when I was in Hawaii last October.

Coles Makeup Remover Pads
Yep, these again. Nuff said. :-)

Was there anything interesting you used up in March?

Hope you are having a beautiful day!

    1. Which of the BB cream formulations do you prefer Sarah Jane? I wish the original could add some more coverage and it would be perfect! :-)
