Nail of the Day - Minx in Techno Camo by Lisa Logan

A little while back my friend asked me to be her model for her end of semester fashion show. She was studying makeup and as part of their assessment they had to create a theatrical stage look and have their work assessed to pass the course. I was happy to spend the day surrounded by makeup (no brainer really!) so quickly agreed to help her out.

Her theme was a peacock so to add to the effect she did these beautiful looking nails on me - what fun! I liked how they had a bit of a feather look about them and the colours went perfectly with the makeup look she created.

Minx nails are a kind of nail strip but are applied using heat in a salon (think of it as a pretty shrink wrap for your nails!), once applied there's no drying time like there is with polish and they are far quicker to apply than a standard manicure. They are supposed to last longer than a polish too as they don't chip or flake away. I must say, with the battering I put my nails through each week during bootcamp sessions (pushups and burpees on ashphelt do nothing good for my nails), nothing is lasting more than a day or two at the minure without getting damaged. That said I probably got about 5 days from these before they started to get damaged so they were averaging much better staying power than polish, I'm told some clients get around three weeks from these if they're careful.

Have you tried Minx nails before?

Hope you are having a beautiful day!
